Great tissue box!!

After remodeling our kitchen with stainless steel appliances, I was looking for a non-stainless tissue box and struggles until I cam across this. From the title, you can’t quite tell that it’s a nicely made bamboo wood. The dark color picks out some of the new tile so I am very happy with this purchase at a great price!

Missing a hole

This shower curtain is super cute and looks great in my kids bathroom. My only complaint is that It only has eleven holes for hanging, standard curtains have 12 so I was left with an extra curtain hook and it didn’t line up with the shower curtain liner. Not sure if they’re all this way or if I just got a wierd one.

Good quality and color, size might be irregular

I’m not sure if this is a standard size shower curtain or not. It fits the space well, but has one less curtain hook hole than what comes with a standard set of curtain hooks or a standard liner. I just double hooked the liner at the end to compensate for them not matching. The curtain was plenty wide enough. The colors are vibrant and the quality is sufficient. It is not very thick, but it isn’t too thin either.

Does Latex Foam Outgas?

Outgassing, aka offgassing, is a procedure in which a solid releases gas which occurs in enclosed environments such as offices and homes. This outgassing occurs in nature as well as within fictitious products. Solids may release gas for a number of dissimilar reasons. Some undergo physical changes which cause transformation from solid to gas, with the gas being freed as an end result. Others may have trapped gases inside as a result of the way in which they were formed, in which case the gas will tardily vent over time.

In the poly foam world, heat is a necessary element for the elaboration procedure and that heat is generated by the fundamental interaction of sure chemicals which cause it to heat up internally. When the expanded poly foam core, aka “memory foam”, is sent to the curing floor, outgassing will occur for the duration of this cool down process.

So does that mean that latex foam outgases?

No! Whether blended latex or natural latex, no chemicals are employed to give rise to the heat necessitated for the elaboration routine to occur. Can a mattress topper change your life?

I am a procrastinator.

I am now and always have been. You will benefit slightly since I have been sleeping on this topper for almost nine months and I, naturally, procrastinated in writing this review.

So it should come as no surprise that I waited much too long to change my old-as-dirt, lumpy, taco-shaped torture chamber masquerading as a mattress. I knew that I did not want to purchase a mattress that included springs in any form so my choices were rather limited. After many, many hours of research and reading any and every review I could find, I finally decided on a generic memory foam mattress from the big box store that was available on their website. In an effort to provide full disclosure I will say the memory foam was my second choice behind a 100% organic latex mattress but spending thousands on a mattress is something I wasn’t willing to do at the time so I had to settle for second best. It was easier doing so knowing I was also purchasing this topper at the same time.

I was surprised when the box arrived since it was smaller than a keg of beer. I pulled out the topper which was enclosed in what looked like a black trash bag. I realized it was vacuum-sealed and carefully removed the black bag layer under which was another plastic covering. So I again begin to carefully remove this wrapping and if I had not had the same experience with the memory foam mattress a few days earlier would have scared myself with how quickly this thing expands and tries to come out of the wrapping once the seal is broken and air is returned to the topper.

I plopped it on the mattress as fast as I could and let it return to form. The first thing I noticed was the smell which is familiar since I own a latex pillow but there was also another smell which was rather chemical-like and I assumed it was from either the plastic packaging or the vacuum process itself. However, it wasn’t overwhelming and dissipated fully in a couple of days. I then took stock of the topper itself and was rather displeased as to its aesthetics. There were two, albeit smallish, black smudges of some sort on the topper (which remain to this day). Secondly, and most unappealing, was the entire left side of the topper looked like it had been cut out of a king size to fit on a queen bed. The topper is comprised of what I refer to as “zones”. The outer perimeter contains uniform holes from the manufacturing process. Inside of this perimeter is another “zone” without any uniform holes, just the natural ones made by the air bubbles released during the molding process. The inner zone is again full of the uniform holes which from what I understand help to keep the air circulating while sleeping. The “zoned” nature of the mattress made the hack job glaringly obvious and for the price I paid I certainly expected different. I suppose it wouldn’t have been such a big deal if they would of at least cut it straight but there is an inch overhang on the bottom where the cut got misaligned.

Having said all this, I’m sure you’re wondering how in the world I determined this product deserved 5 stars after the problems I incurred. Simply, this topper has changed my life. From the very first night till present, I get rejuvenating rest each and every time I lay down to sleep. I sincerely had no idea just how poorly I was sleeping until I woke up after my first nights sleep on this topper and had not a single body ache or pain and I was wide awake and lacking any brain fog like I normally experience when I first lumber out of bed. I was so excited but being the consummate cynic I chalked it up to my old mattress being so bad that anything newer would certainly feel heavenly. But night after night and morning after morning I continue to experience the same wondrous feeling. I utterly dislike having to sleep anywhere other than my own bed because I am inevitably going to wake up cranky, tired, and sore no matter the newness or type of mattress I sleep on.

Natural latex has this incredibly unique property of being soft to the point of feeling almost buoyant and weightless while also being supportive and cradling the contours of the body. And if you want to be truly amazed, just search the web for latex mattresses that are still around from the 50′s, 60′s, and 70″s! Latex’s durability is unparalleled which is why I felt justified in spending so much on this topper. It feels nothing like even the most expensive, top of the line memory foam mattress I previously thought I wanted. Memory foam uses body heat to soften and conform to your curves and in doing so retains that heat as synthetic materials aren’t normally breathable. It also takes a bit for memory foam to return to its shape so you often find yourself slipping into the same spot you just tried to roll out of. This latex topper is natural and breathable which allows for proper air circulation and for someone who flips the pillow over just to get to the cold side this was a very important priority in my comfort. Also, the latex springs up instantaneously when pressure is removed so there is no falling into the same body hole over and over.

My topper was received with an International Latex sticker on it meaning the Talalay manufacturing process was used. This information should be clearly defined in the description as Talalay and Dunlop processes are distinctly different and therefore create a different end product that the buyer should be made aware of. I would have been less hesitant to buy if I would have known this was an International Latex product.

The last thing I would like to point out is that natural latex is hypoallergenic, anti-microbial and mildew, mold and dust mite resistant. There is no off-gassing like with synthetic latex and memory foam and no petrochemicals so it’s green and eco-friendly. Also, utilizing a rubber tree’s sap doesn’t harm the tree which makes it a sustainable resource.

If you’ve read this far I applaud your efforts and will spare you further grief as I could actually go on and on about the information I have learned and how crazy I am for natural latex sleep products. I cannot recommend a natural latex topper or mattress enough.

Extremely comfortable!

I bought this product as an alternative to traditional and memory foam mattress toppers because my husband doesn’t like the heat that they retain. I was also looking for natural latex foam as I was concerned that synthetic/natural mixes would be less durable or more likely to retain heat and indeed, this topper does not retain any heat at all.

Initially, the topper took some getting used to – it does not seem that soft and it feels quite “wobbly” when you first lie down on it. However, I’ve noticed that I am sleeping better through the night and most importantly, I am not getting any aches and pains from pressure points.

That said, there are a couple of reasons why I didn’t give this product 5 stars:
1. there was a tear in the foam when I unpackaged it. However, because it is in a corner, I don’t think that the tear will get worse.
2. unlike memory foam, which dampens the movements in bed, the topper seems to amplify the slightest movement that my husband and I make. Every time one of us moves or turns in bed, the entire topper “jiggles” and it actually makes my husband dizzy. However, this is affecting him more than it affects me.

This product is a great purchase for the price and overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Best of the topper out there

This topper felt the best. Offers good support and are fairly inexpensive. I found similar toppers at twice the price except the one in the store had a zipper cover. I could use my regular fitted sheet to cover it. My research showed that these toppers are all natural while many others in the market have some chemical latex added. Though I felt some rubber smell to begin with, it is all gone in couple of days. In couple of months I plan to buy for my guest bedroom. Their customer service is also nice and they ship pretty fast.

Soap Dispenser

After ordering several other more expensive liquid soap dispensers only to have them all corrode, this one has the proper design. It simply uses a plastic container to hold the liquid soap. The stainless parts can be cleaned easily plus the base has a rubber pad that prevents the dispenser from slipping on the countertop. Well engineered and worth the bargain price.

Great Product

We had searched for a soap dispenser to go with our newly renovated master bath that had satin nickel fixtures. This looks great. It has a large capacity so you will not need to refill often. The plastic looks like frosted glass and is of a good quality. The main reason we chose this dispenser is that it is stainless steel and will not rust on the countertop. Many of the other dispensers in other metals had poor reviews regarding rust. This also has a rubber bottom which makes it nonslip. High quality product and I would recommend.

Pump needs some finesse to depress, some rust, not attractive

The biggest problem with this soap dispenser is that the pump does not depress if it is pushed straight down. To depress the pump, we have to wiggle it a little and press down slightly to one side or another and maybe at a slight angle – but not always at the same angle. Wiggling the top and pressing down by pushing slightly toward the left works one time, while the next time might require pushing more toward the right or toward the front to get the pump to go down. I’ve learned to deal with this quirk and can get it to work for me as described, but my husband gives up after the first attempt. “Get another one!” he told me this morning.

Warm and Dry

We purchased this for our new house, and it delivers! We have warm, dry towels (not hot, not mildewy) when we reach for them every morning. We put it on a plug-in timer so it only runs an hour before we need to use it and another hour or so after, and we’ve had nothing but clean, dry towels. We hard-wired ours and mounted it on the wall, and it looks clean and classy and works great. This is also a great size–don’t be convinced by bigger-is-better–there are plenty of rungs and we fold our towels twice and they work great. We liked it so much we got one for our kids–four towels, clean and dry. Good value, great product.

Serviceable Towel warmer

I bought this towel warmer after about a year of contemplating whether this would fit in my small bathroom. Amazon was running a terrific sale so for the price, under $100, it is hard to beat. Installation was fairly easy (I have mine plugged in). Most important, it does warm my towels. Although it’s not a hot as I expected it to be. The satin nickel finish is cheap looking and the adhesive used for the stickers on the rails removed part of the finish when I took them off. Overall for the price I am happy with my purchase.

Works exactly as advertised

Purchasing this unit is the greatest thing I could have done for my bathroom. NO more musty smelling towels, and always dry for after a shower. The unit is hot, but certainly not burning to the touch, and DON’T expect it to create “Dryer warm” towels, just dry, clean smelling towels. I want to put one in the other bathroom, once I can figure out how to run electricity to that point.
BTW, mine was hardwired, and it looks perfect, like it really belongs there.

check the height vs. width

Be sure and check the width vs. height on this product. I needed a extra tall (height) which I thought was also “extra long” but instead this curtain is extra WIDE.

shower curtain

The reason I ordered this curtain was for the length. Although the description says premium weight vinyl, I do not consider the weight of this curtain heavy duty. The length was fine but I would have expected the vinyl to be a heavier quality based on the description.I was pleased that the curtain holes are secured with metal grommets.
