The problem with a good deal of air bed reviews that are out there today, whether in print or online (or both), is that they distinctively rely on test studies done over the course of only one or two nights. Everyone knows that with air beds in queer this is not a sufficient time horizon to reasonably evaluate the mattresses’ benefits. It may ofttimes take longer than this just to find the right setting or level of inflation for any queer sleeper. That’s why it may make more sense to gauge things based upon the long term reviews of people, say, on Amazon or a similar “owner” specific review base.
While a heap of fine publications have done their own studies over recent years, they many times end up comparing diverging model types. For instance, it is not that helpful to compare an air bed which is designed specifically for camping with one that is made for the home. Especially if the home use one is intended for each day use (which will probably be reflected in a higher price of course) then you may bet that it will way outperform just an air bed camper throwaway. But this plainly doesn’t mean that the better reviewed one is the one you want. If all you’re looking for is a bed to use a few times a year when your family goes camping, why would you consider a full-on mattress with a frame? The fact is you wouldn’t; now would you even think in regards to buying one that is very high-tech. In the outdoors, we are all a lot less demanding, except for the occasional princess and the pea.
So all of this is why I like to favor the views of owners of an air bed versus mere salaried reviewers. By talking to the long time owners you may get a much better feel for how the mattress will carry out over a long (and realistic) time period. These people have specifically gotten their air beds to just the right level of inflation. They report on whether it holds it is air well, or if it needs to be “resuscitated” each few days (or even more frequently). Typically the best reviews are given to a maker like Aerobed, who is the industry leader. That’s not to say that they are the hands-down winner, but they surely have the greatest market-share. Other companies are starting to come into this field, too, and will for sure make their own quality contribution to the air bed evolution.

Disappointed in aero bed quality By Patricia K. Goodrich I have purchased 4 aerobeds over the years. 3 of them have kept up through various years of travel, grandkids, and even extended nightly use. The last one, the Aerobed Premier Comfort Queen Bed, seemed much less sturdy than the former models, exceptionally on the brushed fabric top. This model devised a leak on the top within 2 months of buy and was difficult to repair because of the material involved. Would not buy this product again.

I CANNOT DECIDE IF I LIKE IT OR NOT By Gilgamesh The AeroBed Premier Comfort Plus Twin Bed is exceedingly easy to set up and put away. I like a firm bed, and I think it inflates sufficient to provide a great deal of aid for me.
The only problem is that it seems to lose air through the night. I suppose this could be because the air temperature has dropped a bit, but I can not rather tell. When I go to bed I inflate it all of the way so that it is firm and comfortable. Usually, when I wake up, the bed is a little less firm. Sometimes it is even a little mushy. I don’t think I have a leak, but I can not tell, so I am undecided regarding the bed. A friend with the same bed says he closely never has to re-inflate it, so I am marveling if I will have to interchange mine.
However, it is far better than the Coleman bed I tried. That one sat twice as high as this one, but in the morning much of the air had escaped, and I was closely on the floor. I didn’t feel rested at all. On top of that, it was a real pain to inflate/deflate. If you are on the fence amidst the Coleman and this one, I would commend paying the extra cash and giving the AeroBed a try.
====UPDATE==== I gave up on the bed. The other night I woke up with a mushy mattress and decisive I had had enough. Maybe mine was a lemon. If not, then I hope they improve the air retention quality, because it sure is comfortable when it is keeping air!

Leaks worst then the Titanic By Sammie 62 Ok, I purchased this item and after only after 6 uses it started out to spring leaks (Small rips at the seams) I sent it back to the Company, which after inspection was kind sufficient to replace the item. This new alternate lasted when it comes to 4 uses and then started out to invent the same problem. I sent this item back to the Aerobed company who stated that, they could find not one thing faulty with their workmanship and sent the ripped item back to me. I fixed the little rip only to have another one occurr within 2 more uses. The item is now in a NYC trash bin, and the homeless won’t even use it. In my sentiment and based on my experience with this product it is poorly made and subject to rubber break down, which will lead to leaks. Don’t waste your money. PS: The patch kit they give you to fix leaks is useless, and all the duct tape and glue in the world will never stop this type of mattress breakdown. Hope this helps.
